The county library, five branches, free to walk into. On a wet afternoon it's the most reliable indoor room in Garrett County: warm, quiet, has a bathroom, and nobody minds how long you sit there. Every branch keeps different hours, and three of the five shut at lunchtime on Saturday.
- The Friendsville branch is not on Chestnut Street right now. It's operating from the Friendsville Senior Center at 947 Community Drive while the building is renovated.
- Kitzmiller is closed Saturday and Sunday. Every other branch opens Saturday morning.
- The library closes for holidays and for some local festivals. Those dates aren't in this record yet.
