Casselman River Bridge

State park · 4 acres

No reservation needed

Not on Maryland DNR's list of parks requiring day-use reservations as of 25 June 2026. Day-use fees may still apply on arrival.

Four acres around an 80-foot stone arch built in 1813 for the National Road — the largest single-span stone arch in America when it was finished, and a National Historic Landmark. A ten-minute stop rather than a day out, and worth it.

Still to confirm

Listed openly rather than hidden, because a gap you can see is worth more than a gap you can't.

  • Confirm it is free and has no gate hours.
  • Confirm whether the bridge itself is still walkable.
  • Confirm parking — it is small and on a busy road.
