Nobody has sent me a picture of Herrington Manor. If you have been, that is the one thing I cannot get by ringing anyone up —send one and it goes on this page with your name on it if you want it.
Not on Maryland DNR's list of parks requiring day-use reservations as of 25 June 2026. Day-use fees may still apply on arrival.
A 53-acre lake made by damming Herrington Creek, with twenty year-round cabins built by the Civilian Conservation Corps. No gas motors on the lake, which keeps it quiet. Cross-country ski rental in winter, one of very few places in Maryland where that's a real option.
A quiet lake because gas motors aren't allowed on it, which is the whole appeal. You can rent a boat here, and there are twenty CCC cabins if you plan far enough ahead. Dogs are fine on the trails and not on the sand.
