Nobody has sent me a picture of Sang Run. If you have been, that is the one thing I cannot get by ringing anyone up —send one and it goes on this page with your name on it if you want it.
Not on Maryland DNR's list of parks requiring day-use reservations as of 25 June 2026. Day-use fees may still apply on arrival.
A restored 1800s homestead and former general store on the Youghiogheny, kept as a picture of rural life before the lake existed. Also the put-in for the upper Yough, which is genuinely expert-only water.

Where things are
- The buildings
- The Friends Store and the Election House were the center of the Sang Run community until the 1970s. The Friend family farmed here from the early 1800s until the state bought it in 2008.

The Election House ties to the campaign for the 19th Amendment — the guide says Garrett County helped propel the suffrage movement, and the house is where that is told.
